Bryan and I took an extension to Rome after Israel, before heading back to Tennessee. This was our second time to Italy (one of my favorite places on Earth!) We, of course, saw some new things, and enjoyed seeing the main sites again (Sistine Chapel not pictured, of course). On our last night, we broke from our group and took in the city by ourselves--very liberating after being with over forty people for two weeks. We had a blast and enjoyed what Rome offered.:)
The Pyramid of Cestius. The pyramid is a funerary monument built about 12 BC as a tomb for Caius Cestius.

The Pantheon. The dome of the Pantheon has a hole in the top (on purpose) that is as big as the dome is tall! Don't worry, they do have holes in the floor for the water to drain out after a rain!

Bryan at dinner. (While we were enjoying our dinner, at a Rick Steves' jaunt--with all the other RS junkies--we met a couple who gave us their Rome pass. They were leaving the next morning and couldn't use it. So, we got to ride home on the train/bus for free! God does provide!. Also, as we were leaving a patron asked us where we were from. He replied that he was from Tullahoma originally and that his father worked at Arnold AFB, where Bryan's dad works! What a small world.)
